AM - 6 miles with 15 min. LT tempo (goal - 5:24). Met up with the guys again but I didn't really group up like I should have and it ended up being pretty much a solo effort again. Average ended up being about a 6:00 min pace which was about the same as my AT earlier this week. I really need to just break out of this slump I've been in.

AM - 3 miles. Great run. I felt really good and it felt a little warmer this morning.

PM - 7.75 miles. 4x1600 at 85% (goal - 5:35) with 3 min. recovery and 1.5 mile warm/cool. Not a great workout but definitely an improvement. My times ended up being: 5:39, 5:44, 5:38, 5:37. I started off pretty well but as we started the second one I really started to struggle. I picked it up a little on the third one but on the last one I was struggling again. Coach saw that I was doing bad and he started running with me for a bit. With about a lap to go I said I couldn't do it and Coach hit me in the head and that got me going again. I actually started sprinting for like 100 meters and even though that was kind of stupid it helped me get closer to where I needed to be. Nothing hurt today so it was just my mind that made me run so bad.

AM - 3 miles. Great run this morning. I felt great but I'm getting sick and tired of the cold. I can't wait for summer. Great yoga sesh after.

PM - 5 miles Trail Run Tursday. We went over to Chuckawalla today. It was pretty chilly at points and pretty tough but I enjoyed. I fell back from the group on the way back because they were going a little faster than I wanted. My foot hurt a bit but not much pain.

AM - 3 miles. Just another uneventful cold morning. I felt fine.

PM - 10 miles with 18 min. AT tempo (goal - 5:44). I felt a lot better about my tempo today. It still wasn't great and not quite on pace but I did a lot better. I stuck right with Andrew for the first lap and I actually led for a lot of it. I was feeling great but as we came onto the second lap I started to fall back like I have been lately. Preston caught up to me at this point and started to pass me and started to gap me but I forced myself to not let that gap grow. I stayed just a little bit behind for almost the rest of the lap but I gave a good push towards the end to catch back up. I finished the tempo off pretty good and then I jogged with Krenny and Jason until we joined with everyone else. Pretty good workout but definitely need to work on finishing workout off strong.

AM - 3 miles. Another boring cold morning but we had a great book discussion after.

PM - 6.5 miles. Old Man Hills - 1x800, 2x400, 4x200. Solid workout today. I tried my best to stick with those top guys and for the most part I was right where I wanted to be but I still need to be a little braver. I felt pretty good. No foot pain just a little sore.

AM - 3 miles. Same old. I felt good.

PM - 6 miles. 5 miles with striders. We ran the DI loop and then the Mr. PVHS 5k course. I felt great and I'm super excited for this race next week (as soon as I get signed up). Striders were great and I tried to focus on good form.

AM - 6 miles with 15 min. LT tempo (goal - 5:24). I met up with same crew at Sullivan Park. I sucked it up again and didn't hit my time. I felt great but I just wasn't with it again.

My only goal for this week is to just relax. I've just been so tense and tight on a lot of my workouts lately and that is one reason why I struggle to hit them. I'm just going to try to get back to my old self where I had beautiful relaxed form.

AM - 3 miles. It is getting warmer in the morning but still not warm enough for short sleeve. I felt pretty good.

PM - 8 miles. 4x1600 at 85% (goal - 5:35) with 3 min. recovery, 1.5 mile warm/cool. I did pretty well today. My first two were a lot slower than they should have been but I finished the workout off really well. My times ended up being 5:46, 5:41, 5:35, and 5:32. My foot hurt a bit but nothing too bad.

AM - 3 miles. Pretty warm this morning. My foot hurt a lot. Yoga after.

PM - 6 miles. 2 mile warm/cool, 1 mile time trial, and striders. I was a little disappointed with my performance today. I stayed pretty relaxed through out but I think that was only because I wasn't going that fast. My time is way off my Kosmin (19 seconds) which was really a bummer. I can't be too mad since I haven't hit a lot of my workouts lately.

AM - 3 miles. Same old. Foot still hurt but a lot less.

PM - 10 miles with 24 min. AT tempo (goal = 5:44). I ran very bad today. I ran very well for about the first half. It was in the zone for the first half and it didn't really feel like I was pushing that much or hurting. About halfway through I lost focus and got out of the zone and I slowed down a lot to finish very poorly. Workouts like this show why I ran so poorly at the time trial.

AM - 3 miles. I felt pretty good today. The foot still hurts but is still getting better. Great book discussion after.

PM - 5.5 miles. 10x200 at mile race pace (goal - 35.50) with 2 min. recovery and 1.5 mile warm/cool (I was supposed to do 2 mile warm/cool but I didn't know until after). I did this by myself today because I went to the doctor today to just check up on my foot. He just said keep doing what I'm doing and it should just keep getting but if for some reason it gets worse than I may have to get surgery. Hopefully that will not happen. I felt really good about my workout today. I was feeling great and I just love speed workouts. My times were 36.82, 36.10, 36.20, 35.85, 34.99, 34.00, 32.10, 30.47, 28.01, 27.42. I don't know if I was supposed to finish off that fast but I was feeling pretty good so I just went for it.

Lunch - 1 mile. Root Beer Mile today. It sucked. I finished like 3rd to last.

PM - 5 miles trail. I wasn't feeling it today and I just fell behind the whole group. Super excited for the race tomorrow.

Race - 1.5 mile warm/cool. I had a lot of fun today. The race was awesome and I was very satisfied with my performance even if it was still off my LT pace. When the race started, I hung back a little bit but was still going pretty fast. I was just a few seconds behind Krenny, Dave, and Matt for that first mile. I picked it up the second mile and caught up to Dave but was still a few seconds behind Krenny and Matt, Dave started to fall back a bit towards the end of the second mile and I just stayed in the same spot. The third mile was pretty much the same. Matt started to gap Krenny but I was still the same distance from Krenny. With about 800 to go I finally decided to go get Krenny. I caught him with about 400 to go and then I used my kick to barely finish in front of him by 2 seconds. My average pace ended up being about 5:37 which is still 13 seconds off my LT but a lot closer than it has been. I'm not to worried about that. It was just fun to go out and race again. I am in love with road races.

My goal for this week is to just go have some fun. The trouble I have been having is that I just start worrying too much and start thinking too much and it holds me back. I'm just going to go out and run not think and have fun and not worry.

AM - 3 miles. Good morning run. I mostly ran by myself because I didn't want to go fast with the rest of the group. Good yoga session after.

PM - 7 miles. 16x200 at mile race pace (goal - 35.5) with 1-2 min. recovery and 1.5 mile warm/cool. I love these quick workouts since speed is my biggest strength. My times were 37.08, 36.98, 36.46, 35.61, 35.88, 36.17, 35.51, 35.54, 35.06, 34.82, 33.99, 31.95, 30.98, 30.84, 32.18 and my watch messed up on one.  I was hoping for a faster time on the last one but I got trapped in but it's all good. Super fun workout and not too hard.

PM - 6 miles with 15 min. LT tempo (goal - 6:24). We got out very fast today and I felt that really ended up hurting me. I fell off a ton and my average pace was like 6:20 or something like that. Very terrible workout.

PM - 4 miles. 3 miles with striders. Nice slow run today for once. We just followed the girls to Sandbergs so it was very slow for most of the run. Striders felt great.

Warmed up about 1.5 miles with some of the guys and then got to the line. We warmed up maybe a little late but it meant that we didn't have to wait very long for the race to start.

Race - Mile 1 - 5:55. When the race started, me and Preston just took it pretty easy and ran with the DH guys for the first little bit but thought they were going a little slow so we got around them. Mile 2 - 6:08.  We picked it up a bit but still very easy for those first 2 miles since it was just all downhill. Mile 3 - 6:02. It started to level off a bit at the beginning of this mile but then we dropped into Hells Hole. Mile 4 - 6:01. This mile was a bit harder with the little rolling hills in Hells Hole. Mile 5 - 6:13. This mile was a little slower and tougher as it flattened out. We caught up to Jake at the end of this mile and he started to come with us. Mile 6 - 6:39. This mile was disatrous as I made a huge mistake. As we came to the aid station, I went to get some water and when I crossed behind Preston, I hit his legs tripping him up and making him hit his knee hard. He got up quick and said he was fine but it ended up ruining the rest of his race. This mile had a slight uphill and we slowed quite a bit but I wasn't too worried since we still had a long race ahead. Mile 7 - 6:39. This mile was pretty flat as we started coming down the Dam Road but it was about the same as last. Mile 8 - 6:17. We got rolling again on this mile and caught Krenny. Mile 9 - 6:30. Our group started to split here and me and Jake started to pull ahead of Krenny and Preston around the hill. Mile 10 - 7:03. This mile slowed significantly because of Majestic Hill. Me and Jake were still together on this mile as some sizziling fast DH guys flew past us. Mile 11 - 6:16. As we came down off Majestic, I started to gap Jake a bit as I started to pick it up a little more. I caught Dallin and Trevor (which really suprised me) on this mile. Mile 12 - 6:36. Coach cheered for us on this mile and I started to pick it up a little bit on this mile and started to pull closer to Andrew. Mile 13 - 6:13. As we hit the turn around to the finish, I saw that more of the DH guys were getting very close to me and I also wanted to go catch Andrew so I really started to pick it up. 0.1 mile - 5:53 pace. I was only a little bit behind Andrew at this point but I just couldn't get myself to kick very hard. I ended up only 1 second behind Andrew on the results but it felt like it was a lot more than that. I was very happy with my performance today and I just had a ton of fun. There were sections where I probably could have pushed a little harder but overall a great race. My foot never bothered me and the rest of the body felt really good (maybe too good). It definitely was hard but it was a lot easier than I first anticipated. I think it was mostly because I just stayed pretty relaxed and didn't really think but just run. It was such a great experience for my first half marathon and I definitely think after high school and a mission and all that stuff, I think I will get into this kind of racing.

AM - 3 miles. It was a pretty good morning run but I was still feeling a bit sore from the half. Plyos after were hard but good.

PM - 4 miles. 3 miles with striders. I didn't have much fun today. The 3 miles were insanely fast, striders weren't very fun, weights wasn't much fun either, and I looked like an idiot at the decathalon.

AM - 3 miles. I didn't really run with the group towards the end because I just felt so worn out.

PM - 6 miles with 4 fartleks. Today was a lot funner. The fartleks were hard because I was just so tired and worn out but the decathlon was better. Today we did the 200 and Long Jump. I only got a 27.24 on the 200 which was kind of disappointing but I just didn't have much left in the legs after the fartleks. The Long Jump wasn't much better but it was a lot funner (if that makes sense). It just feels like you are flying when you get a good jump. I ended up getting a 16' 2".

AM - 3 miles. I woke up feeling really sore all over this morning so not the greatest run. Plyos after were okay.

PM - 5 miles. Kosmin Test with 2 mile warm/cool. I felt like I did okay today. I sadly did not improve which was kind of a bummer but I was okay with it. Last time I got 1451 but this time I dropped back to 1442. The truth is that I'm not really surprised with the deprovement because frankly I haven't hit any of my workouts lately. My predicted time will end up being about 4:45 or 46 which is just a couple seconds slower than last time. I just can't be a baby this time around and I need to just go hit my workouts.
