AM - 3 miles easy. Plyos after.

PM - 5.25 miles. 4 laps of jogging the curves and sprinting the straights and then 5 hill sprints on our time trial hill that is now covered in rocks with 2 mile warm/cool. Since some of us are racing tomorrow at Snow Canyon, we did this workout instead of mile repeats. I felt really good with how it went. It wasn't as nearly as hard as mile repeats but it was still a good push. I'm running the 1600 and 4x400 at the meet tommorrow which should be fun and then probably the 800 and 400 at DH this weekend.

AM - 3 miles. Good run but foot was hurting a bit. Yoga was nice.

PM - 5 miles. I ran the 1600 and the 4x400 today. I got out nice and quick today, right next to Sage of DH and just behind Colton. That was about as good as it got from there. There was a slight headwind on the back stretch and I really should just have stayed right behind Colton so that he would take some of the wind but I didn't. I relaxed a little too much and Colton and Sage started to gap me towards the end of lap 2. Their gap kept growing and like 5 other people passed me over the last two laps until I kicked it in and finished right in front of Dallin and Jason. First time breaking 5 which is kinda cool but I know I'm a lot better than a 4:59. I can't complain too much because your races generally reflect your workouts and a lot of my workouts have looked like my race today. The 4x400 turned out a bit better. I anchored our team to a win with about a 56-57 split.

AM - 3 miles. Just the usual but with some wind. My legs felt super fresh and so I kind of pushed the pace a bit. Plyos were good.

PM - 8 miles with fartleks (3 sets of 2 min on, 1 min off, 1 min on, 30 sec off, 30 sec on, and 2 min. off between each set). It was super windy today so Coach decided to change the workout to this. I was supposed to do 4 sets but my stomach was so jacked that I just couldn't do the last set. First time in a super long time that I actually had to stop to go the bathroom on the run and the first time in a while that I have cut a workout short. I think mentally I wasn't with it either. I just haven't believed in myself as much as I have needed to lately. That's the reason I have struggled lately.

AM - 3 miles. It was pretty cold this morning and my legs were pretty blah. Good book discussion.

PM - 5 miles. 4 miles with 4x200. It was finally a warm day again. Legs still didn't feel great but it was a nice run. I kept the 200s a lot slower today and tried to work a bit more on form. We worked on handoffs today since most of us aren't very good at it. I already felt pretty good about handoffs but it helped me fix a few mistakes. I also practiced blocks today for the 400 since it's clear that I'll pretty much a Varsity 400 guy now because none of the sprinters really want to do it. I worked on blocks forever but just could not find something I really liked. There were some okay things but nothing super impressive. I think it may be that I'm just not super comfortable with the blocks yet so I think it is going to take a lot of practice.

AM - 3 miles. It was a lot warmer today but the legs were tired.

PM - 6 miles. I ran the 400 today. I just couldn't get moving today. I gave a good push but it just felt like I wasn't moving as fast as I could. My legs were feeling a bit tired this morning so that may have been the problem or it could have been insufficent warm up but I felt pretty good with my warm up. It was still a PR, nonetheless, but I know that isn't the best I can do.

AM - 6 miles. 800 today and then a 10 min. AT to LT tempo progression. I felt very good today. My legs felt super good and the weather was very nice so I knew this could be a good race. I got out quick and was in a great position. I came through the first lap in about 61 or 62. I started picking it up at the beginning of the second lap but I slowed down again with 300 to go and didn't pick it back up again. I ended up getting passed by like 3 people and I didn't quite qualify for BYU which is super disappointing. I know I really should be running sub 2:10 but I just haven't run like I should have. I'm feeling fine physically but my mind isn't quite there yet. I just got to keep working on that. The progression run after was fairly strong. It was a slower than AT at the beginning but I was able to finish strong and was really close to my LT.
