AM - 4.45 miles. 3.95 miles in 30 mins for an average pace of 7:35.69 and 0.5 mile bare foot warm up. First day of Summer Practice! It felt weird to be leading the team in warm ups for the first time ever. Good run but I felt a little bit out of shape. My foot didn't hurt and I hope it stays that way. I was also Gouldalized by Matt and I am now Gould #3.

AM - 5 miles. 4 miles in 30 mins, .5 barefoot warm, and .5 at running club. Average pace was 7:33. Great run today. I was pretty sore from yesterday but I felt like I was already getting back in shape. Running club was pretty crazy and hectic but I enjoyed it. 1st and 2nd graders are definately hard to work with because they are so crazy but it also makes it kinda fun.

AM - 5 miles. .5 mile barefoot warm up and 4.66 miles in 35 min. (Average Pace: 7:30). I'm still feeling really sore everywhere but still a good run. We were going really fast at some points and it's starting to get pretty hot but I enjoyed it. Looking forward to a great season.

AM - 4 miles. 3.9 in 30 mins for Average Pace of 7:41. I got up and ran at 4:45ish because I was going on the trek. It was actually a really nice quiet run. Still felt a bit sore but it is getting better. I really wish I could run that early in the morning more often. Great birthday run.

AM - 2.75 miles in 30 mins. Average Pace - 10:53. I was on the trek today and I've got to say it was one of the hardest things to get up and get my run in. First off, Nick and Andrew had gone on some little rescue mission type thing the night before and so I wasn't going to be able to run with them. Luckily, their younger brothers (Alex and Jarron) still wanted to and so did Luis so that was good.  It was also so much colder than I thought it was going to be and so I almost decided to just go back to sleep. It took me about 15 min. Before I finally got out of bed and woke the other guys up. I just kept hearing Coach's words earlier in the week about "No Zeros" and I kept thinking about my goals for the season and I knew I couldn't skip the run, even on the trek. It was a good run and we decided to switch today's run with Saturday's since we didn't want to be too tired to pull the handcarts. We kept it slow for Luis but I didn't realize how slow until the end. Even though it was extremely slow, it was good to get it in.

PM - 5.14 miles in 40 mins with a strong finish. Average Pace - 7:46. I went out on my run just after I got back from the trek which was about 12ish. I might have been a little stupid to go in the middle of the day and heat but it seemed like the best time when I started. My legs felt a little tired from the trek but the soreness I felt early in the week was gone. It was super hot which made the strong finish  hard and the strong finish was also uphill but I enjoyed the run. Foot didn't hurt at all which makes me really happy because I was worried the trek would destroy my foot. Great first week.

AM - 6 miles. .5 barefoot warm and then 5.5 miles in 40 min. with 10 min. tempo. Average Pace: 7:24. Good easy tempo. Nothing crazy. We went 1.62 miles in the tempo for an average pace of about 6:08. I put myself out in front as best as I could. I'm really trying to be a leader in workouts now. Foot hurt for the first time this summer which was a bummer so I iced it up after practice.

AM - 5 miles. 30 min. easy with .5 barefoot warm and some mileage at Kids Club. 3.84 in 30 min. Average Pace: 7:48. A little bit slower run today and I felt great. Foot hurt less and no soreness or tightness from yesterday. Kids club was so much fun. I am really liking those 1st and 2nd graders.

PM - 4 miles. 31 min. easy. 3.78 miles. Average Pace: 8:16. First double of the season with Coach and some of the guys. Super hot so we went and jumped in Sandbergs to cool off. Run was nice and slow and went a little long but it was all good. Foot actually felt better than this morning.

AM - 4.5 miles. 35 min. Easy (grass) with .5 mile barefoot warm up. 4.07 miles. Average Pace: 8:38. We ran about 10 min. on the road before running on the grass so we wouldn't have to do a ton of loops. I really enjoyed the run today. The grass was nice and soft and wet which made it squishy. Foot felt great and new shoes felt good.

AM - 6.25 miles. 45 mins with 2x6:00 and 1x5:00 cruise. I didn't really do as good as I would have liked but not a bad workout early in the season. I stuck right at front on the first two repeats but started to fall off a bit on the last one. Logan and Nick lead on the last one with Paul and me not far behind. I need to work on sticking right with the group. I ended up cutting the last repeat to 5 min because I was falling off.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min easy. Average Pace: 8:47. Another great afternoon to Sandbergs. It was hot but we jumped in Sandbergs 3 times so we never really got that hot.

AM - 6.25 miles. 45 min with strong finish and .25 barefoot warm up. We met up at Heritage Park in Coral Canyon today and it was actually a pretty hard run. I started falling off towards the end as we neared our strong finish. It wasn't that I couldn't stay up I was just being a baby about going so fast. I eventually got past my negative attitude and caught back up and I ended up leading the last minute or so. I just need to quit worrying about how fast we are going and just stick with the group.

AM - 3.75 miles. 30 mins. Average Pace: 7:54. Just got a quick run in before I had to go take the ACT. Sun was just barely coming up but it was still really hot. Legs felt tired and had some aches and pains. Knees especially didn't feel good.

AM - 6.5 miles. 45 min. with 13 tempo. Average Pace: 7:33. Average Tempo Pace: 6:13. Okay tempo. I cut it at about 13 min. instead of finishing off the 15 because I started to fall off the group a bit. I really should have finished it off. I think I just got a little scared mentally. The group seemed a little smaller today during the tempo. It seemed like a lot of people were struggling today.

PM - 3.5 miles. Met up at Paul's at noon and jumped in Sandbergs again. Nice big group today. Felt good and a nice Mexico vs. Brazil game after.

AM - 6.25 miles. 45 min. with 23ish minutes grass and .5 barefoot warm. Average Pace: 7:43. I felt really good today. We kept it a lot slower than normal which made it really nice. Foot felt fine and even the knees weren't hurting. It also felt a lot cooler this morning.

PM - 3.5 miles. Another great afternoon at 12 at Paul's house. We ran to Sandbergs and jumped in again but this time we brought goggles and tried to touch some fishies. Had a fun time watching Chile beat Spain after and then a weird game of Truth or Dare.

AM - 7.5 miles. 50 min. with 4,5,6,5,4 cruises and .5 barefoot warm. Average Pace: 7:13. Average Cruise Paces: 5:58, 6:01, 6:03, 6:05, 5:57. Great workout today. Our group was so strong and so much bigger than it ever has been and I stuck in there the whole time this week. The last two repeats got really hard but I promised myself I would stay with the group and that kept me going. I led for a little bit on pretty much all of them which is hard but a lot of fun and I hope that I can keep doing that especially in races once they roll around.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min. Easy. Average Pace: 8:31. Another great afternoon with the boys. Hit up Sandbergs again and then World Cup after. Jarron almost died when we jumped over the fence.

AM - 7 miles. 50 min. with strong finish. Great run at Sullivan park today. Had a nice little adventure through the boonies and then ran part of the half course. The strong finish was really good and we got a nice Indian run going at the end. I just felt great overall today.

AM - 3.5 miles. 30 min. Easy. Average Pace: 8:48. Just a nice slow run by myself this morning. I felt pretty good but there was a few aches and pains in my feet and knees. It has been a great week. Monday's tempo wasn't as strong as I would have liked it but everything else turned out really nicely. I didn't take care of my body as well as I should have but I am feeling a little better at least.

AM - 7.25 miles. 50 min. with 15 min. tempo. Average Pace: 7:25. Tempo Pace: 5:57. Decent tempo today. I finished off the whole 15 min. this time and our group was much closer together. I was at the front for most of it until the end where I fell back a little bit. I need to work on my form more because it doesn't feel as smooth as it used to. Legs felt good, no knee or foot troubles.

PM - 3.25 miles. 30 min easy. Average Pace: 8:57. Ran Dino Tracks trail with Nick and Bryan at about 3. It was super hot and actually pretty hard but I enjoyed it. I haven't run a trail in forever so that was fun but since we ran so early in the day last week, I wasn't used to all the heat. Luckily I brought my water bottle.

AM - 5 miles. 40 min with 6 min test. Average Pace: 8:28. 6 min test was good but not as strong as I would have liked it. I got out fairly quick but Nick and Logan were out much faster and I just let them go. I ran next to Paul and Andrew for a bit until Paul pushed up to Logan and Nick. I really wished I had gone with Paul then but whatever. The rest of the time it was mostly just me and Andrew until the end where Preston and Dallin passed us. I didn't really like that so I gave one last good push with about 30 seconds left to pass them again. I finished 4th on the team which was good but I really wished I had been up by Nick and them. I covered 2 laps and 265 meters.

PM - 3 miles. 30 min easy. Average Pace: 9:42. Ran at about 5 with Jake, Jason, Paul, and Nick out into the desert by Jake's house. It was kind of slow but still hard with the heat.

AM - 7 miles. 50 min. easy with 20 min grass. Average Pace: 7:51. Great run. Legs felt a bit tired from the past two days but great otherwise. I really love running on the grass.

PM - 3.25 miles. 30 min easy. Average Pace: 9:07. Ran part of Bracken's loop with Nick, Jake, Andrew, and Igor at about 2. Super hot again today so I brought water with me. Foot hurt a bit but I think that was because of my shoes so I will probably retire my Pegasus soon.

AM - 9 miles. 60 min with strong finish. Great run on Dino Cliffs trail. It was pretty hard at points but so much fun. The strong finish was good and we did another Indian run. We had a nice strong group and we really got cruising. Legs felt great.

PM - 3.5 miles. Average Pace: 8:50. Great run with Jason and Jake to Sandbergs. It was overcast and windy so when we got out of the water it was actually cold. Legs felt great.

AM - 7.5 miles. 50 min with 5x4:30 min cruise intervals. Met up at the Region Course today so we could get our first look at it this season. Desert Hills had the same idea and we saw them there. The workout wasn't as great as I would of liked it but I'm going to take all positives from it. I forgot how tough the region course was and I think I let it get me down a bit. I was right at the front on the first two and I felt really strong but the last three were just garbage. I started falling behind and instead of giving a good push to try to regroup, I just gave up on myself. It was a really disappointing workout especially after how I did last week in the cruise intervals. I think I struggle the most when I think too much. I just need to run and relax. I will definitely work on that in the coming workouts.

AM - 3 miles. 30 min easy. Average Pace: 10:07. I ran Chuckwalla trail with Bryan, Jake, and Igor today. It was a nice slow run. I kinda wished we had a longer run so that we could get farther on the trail but it was still fun.

AM - 8 miles. 60 min with 10ish min tempo. Another crap workout today. I was supposed to do 20 min of tempo but I just wasn't feeling it so I cut it short. I guess I did okay at first but when I started to fall off I just decided to cut it short instead of running a crappy last 10 min. Nothing really to say about why I ran so bad. Just a bad day for me.

PM - 3 miles. 30 min easy. Met up with Skylar, Jake, Dallin, Bryan, Andrew, and Jason at noon. It was super hot but we kept it pretty slow so that was nice. We swam in Skylar's pool after which was fun.
