AM - 3 miles. Nice warmer morning. Foot hurt a bit.

PM - 5 miles. I ran the 1600 and 400 today. The goal was to try and go with the leaders and see what I could do. It was super hot today which worried me but I dumped some water on myself before the race and that helped a little. I got out quick and right in the mix with everyone. First lap was 1:08. On the second lap I slowed down a bit but leaders weren't too far ahead. Second lap: 1:11. My third lap was total garbage. The first two laps my mind was quiet but coming into that third lap, I started to think about the heat and pain and I slowed down a lot. Third lap was 1:17. I tried to pick it up on the last lap but I just couldn't get myself to go and this Cedar kid passed me. With 100 to go I kicked it in hard, passed the Cedar kid and finished just a little bit behind Andrew. Fourth lap was 1:16. It wasn't the race I was hoping for but a PR and decent race nonetheless. I ended up 8th place overall and scored a point which was cool even if this race wasn't super competitive. I still need to work on the second half of workouts and races. I also ran the 400 but it was really bad. It ended up being a 59. I was so burned out both physically and mentally from the 1600 that I just couldn't get moving.
