PM - 5 miles. 1.5 mile warm/cool, all out 800, and 2 all out 300s. I didn't do as good as I would have liked to today. I feel like I should be a really great 800 runner with all the speed I have but I just have failed to show that yet. I was unagressive at the start and I did not take out as fast as I should have. I sat back farther than I should have and it ruined the rest of my race. I tried to fight back on the last lap and I was able to catch Preston right at the end to finish with a 2:21. Only a 2 second PR so that was kind of a bummer. But its not actually track season so I've got a while to nail down this race. The 300s were much better. The first one suprised me because I finished right behind Abel for a :44 which is about 4 seconds faster than I ever could run during track. My second one was not nearly as impressive but still fairly good. I got a :46 but my last 100 was crap and my legs felt like jelly afterwards. I could barely run the cooldown.

PM - 5.75 miles. 4xSunrise Tire Hills again. I didn't do as great as I would have liked. My times were 1:49, 1:47, 1:41, and 1:51. I relaxed a little bit more on the first two to see if I could kill the last two but it didn't quite work out. My third one was really good as I pushed up with Andrew and Jake but my last one was terrible. I started out okay but about three quarters of the way up, I let myself give up and that last section was so slow. My biggest weakness is definitely my brain so it is a good thing that Coach is having us read this book about our minds. I really need to work on the mental side of things because that's all that is holding me back right now. I'm not out of shape anymore but my mind is. I know that I can have a great race at Footlocker but it is going to come down to my big fat head not my body.

PM - 5 miles. 4 miles with striders. Super cold today which is why it snowed. Great run though and because of the snow we just left our shoes on and did striders on the track.

PM - 5 miles. 4 miles with 4x200 (hard) with equal length jog/walk/rest recovery. Still super cold and a lot of the snow is still around. Great run besides the cold and I felt pretty good. The foot was a little iffy but not super concerned yet as the doctor said I might have days like this for a while. I really enjoyed the 200s as I once again got to showcase my speed. I started in the back on all of them, accelerated through the first 100, and then I kicked it into full speed for the last 100 and flew by almost everybody in front of me. It just felt really good and was a good confidence booster to just fly by everybody like I did.

PM - 3.5 miles. We traveled down to California today for Footlocker. Today, we ran the course and did a few striders from the starting line. I took it easy with Skylar while everybody else just went super fast around the course. I'm feeling good so I'm hoping to do some great things tomorrow.

Race - I warmed up 2 miles and I got to starting line. The weather was pretty nice and it didn't start to rain until about my race so the course was in a lot better condition than last year. I felt ready to go as I got to the line but I really didn't even race today. I never really felt like I was pushing much and my time and placing show that. I came into the race wanting to medal but I was not even close (top 48 get medals and I was 103rd). I know I could have done so much better but it's too late now. Super bad way to end the season. I'm not going to let this happen to me again. Cooled down 1 mile.
