AM - 3.75 miles. 30 min easy. Felt a bit tired this morning. I didn't get much sleep last night.

PM - 2.5 miles. 20 min with pickups. We got to the course around 3 and were able to run the course and get familiar with it. We threw some pickups in as well to shakeout the legs from the long drive. I felt a lot less tired because I slept on the way down.

Race - 5.5 miles. Our race was super legit because it wasn't until 9:40 Cali time and so the sun had already set and it wasn't blazing hot. This race was very fast and I just wasn't ready for it today. I didn't get out as fast as I should have and I fell behind my teammates early. I tried to catch Andrew in the 2nd mile but every time I surged, I didn't hardly make a dent in the gap. In the 3rd mile I gave another surge but I still wasn't moving up on Andrew and I wasn't really passing anyone either. I finished with one of my best kicks of the season but it still wasn't that great. I barely missed breaking 16 (seriously my time was 16:00.0) which was kind of bummer but I was more bummed about my placing on the team. I was 6th on the team and I felt like I ran pretty well. It wasn't a bad race for me. It was just a better race for my teammates. I guess that's a good sign though and shows that our team is getting stronger. I need to work on my start because I kept the gap between me and Andrew pretty much the same for the whole race. If I had gone with Andrew from the start that gap never would have existed. Just something to work on. Our team won our race so I shouldn't be so bummed.
