AM - 5 miles. Uncle Sam's 5k. Fairly decent race today. Me and Preston met up and got a quick little warm up in and got to the line. I got out fairly quick and right into the front pack which included Nephi Eshler and his teammate Jessie, a runner from Bingham, some college age guy, and Preston. Preston and Jesse fell off early but I stayed relaxed and kept right with them for the first mile. Just after mile 1 I started to fall behind a little bit and it pretty much stayed that way the rest of the race. I made a few pushes in the last two miles and it kind of looked like I was gaining on Nephi but then I slowed back down and it went back to what it was before. I ended up finishing 4th. The Bingham kid won (not sure of his time), college guy was 2nd, Nephi finished 3rd, Jesse was 5th, and Preston was 6th. For halfway through the summer, I'm proud of how I did. Most of all the race was a lot fun. The course was pretty fast, mostly road, and the only hills were really small and gradual.
