PM - 4 miles. I ran the 1600 and 400 today at Region. This was a terrible race for me today. It honestly looked like I was only running a three lap race. I got out slower than I have all year but that was my plan. I just let everybody else lead that first lap and then on the second I made a move and pulled right into second behind Spencer of DH. I ran right on his shoulder until halfway through the third lap where I pushed him out of the way and made a good move (I was a real jerk today while I was racing). I didn't really look back at this point but I could tell that I had pulled a way quite a bit and that really freaked me out and I slowed down. Spencer and Sage caught back up to me again just as we started the last lap and just left me in the dust. I pretty much jogged that last lap in. My last lap was so slow that I got passed by 10 people and went from sub 4:50 pace to not even breaking 5. That was probably the worst race of my life. I ran a great first three laps and had started making a good move during that third lap but I quit on myself. I was scared of making a move that very well could have helped me win the race. Instead I finished in 11th. I've got some serious work to do over the summer if I'm going to be able to run better than this. The 400 was a little better but I finished with a 57 again. Well, that was my last race of track.
