AM - 6 miles. 40 min. with 30/30s. Great workout for me today. I really stayed relaxed and just felt really strong. My right calf was a bit sore but it faded as the workout went on. I ended up being the 2nd to last guy standing with 24 repeats. I probably could have gone a few more but I was glad to finish off strong. My form felt a lot smoother today than it has in a while.

PM- 3.25 miles. 30 min easy. Met up with Preston, Jake, and Igor at Preston's house and we ran under the freeway to run on the trails for a little bit. We took it nice and slow but it was still hard because of the heat.

AM - 7.5 miles. 60 min easy with 20 min grass. We started out pretty fast and when we started to lose Bryan, me and Jake just slowed down and ran with him. It ended up being a nice slow run.

PM - 2.5 miles. 30 min easy. We ran Neon Spider today at 7:30 PM. We didn't get a whole lot of mileage because we went really slow through the tunnel but it was all good. It was really fun but it got kind of ruined when my brother used a flashlight. There was actually quite a bit of water in there and we totally soaked our shoes and I slipped right at the end and got covered in mud but I wasn't mad. It was just a really fun run with the team.

AM - 8.75 miles. 67 min with 2x(2,3,4,3,2) min cruise intervals with 3 min recover. Really good workout not only for myself but also the team. I just felt really good today and I stayed really relaxed the whole time and it allowed me to be right at the front leading for many of them. We tried to keep the group together and we did a decent job. We tried to make those who were struggling lead us on a few of them and that really helped. They would eventually fall back and then me and Paul would usually take the lead from them but often they would still push right with  us. On the last one, Paul made and epic move about halfway through and I did my best to match. It was a really fun workout and really big team building one. Hopefully we can carry this through the rest of the season.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min easy. Sandbergs with the guys at about 3. Super hot but still a fun run.

AM - 5 miles. Uncle Sam's 5k. Fairly decent race today. Me and Preston met up and got a quick little warm up in and got to the line. I got out fairly quick and right into the front pack which included Nephi Eshler and his teammate Jessie, a runner from Bingham, some college age guy, and Preston. Preston and Jesse fell off early but I stayed relaxed and kept right with them for the first mile. Just after mile 1 I started to fall behind a little bit and it pretty much stayed that way the rest of the race. I made a few pushes in the last two miles and it kind of looked like I was gaining on Nephi but then I slowed back down and it went back to what it was before. I ended up finishing 4th. The Bingham kid won (not sure of his time), college guy was 2nd, Nephi finished 3rd, Jesse was 5th, and Preston was 6th. For halfway through the summer, I'm proud of how I did. Most of all the race was a lot fun. The course was pretty fast, mostly road, and the only hills were really small and gradual.

AM - 7 miles. 72 min with strong finish. Average Pace: 10:23. I met up with Jake, Preston, and Andrew this morning and we ran Bracken's loop. It was a really hard core trail and I do not recommend it. It is probably one of the hardest trails around here. It is super sandy on most of the trail and it is pretty hilly. It is really beautiful so I can't complain too much. We ended up losing the trail about halfway through and so we just ran randomly through the desert until we hit the trail again. I actually think the trail was much harder than where we ran. We went pretty slow today but I was feeling tired and worn down so I didn't mind. The strong finish was good. It was mostly downhill so it wasn't hard to get moving.

AM - 8.25 miles. 60 min with 20 tempo. Average Pace: 7:45. Average Tempo: 6:24. Much better tempo for me today. I stayed with the group the whole time and didn't cut it short. I decided to just sit back and let the other guys lead instead of jumping out to the front early like I usually do. I took the lead right at the end with like 1 min left and gave one last good push. The tempo was a lot slower today which I think made it easier as well but that's okay. It's a recovery week and I'm not going to worry about that.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min easy. Nice run with the guys to Sandbergs and then we hit up Sonic after. Legs felt good.

AM - 7.25 miles. 50 min easy grass with striders. Great run but I think we maybe ran on the grass a little too long. My legs got really tired from running on there so much. It was also great to finally do striders again. I felt really smooth and strong.

AM - 7 miles. 60 min easy. Super fun run today. We ran to Sandbergs and introduced it to some of the new guys and then we went up into Green Springs and into the desert behind Nick's house and through the tunnels onto the dirt mile and back to the school. Legs felt tired but still a great run. Very small numbers today with a lot of girls going to girls camp.

PM - 3.25 miles. 30 min easy. Met up at Skylar's again and went swimming after. This time some of the girls showed which made it more interesting.

AM - 6.25 miles. 50 min with long hills. Average Pace: 8:51. Just ran to Hells Hole today and went on all the rolling hills down there. It was pretty difficult but we kept it fairly slow so it wasn't too bad. My legs have felt really sore and tired this week which is really weird since it is a recovery week.

AM - 10 miles. 75 min with strong finish. Average Pace: 7:53. Met at Green Springs park today and we went on an epic adventure run. We went and found Forrest Park in Middleton and then after flipping the level 2s around, we went through Neon Spider and then looped it back to the park. Super fun but we got stuck in the tunnel for a while because there was this huge tumbleweed blocking the tunnel. We couldn't even really see it and Preston ran into it. Legs felt a bit better today but still pretty sore. Strong finish wasn't anything special. It was slow but I think we all needed that. It's still been a pretty tough week even  though it has been recovery.

AM - 8.25 miles. 60 min with 20 min tempo. Another crappy tempo. Tempos have always been a big weakness for me. I'm not exactly sure how to overcome this weakness. I was supposed to go 25 minutes but I cut early because I knew I was going to drop off hard. I stuck right with the group for the whole 20 min. so that's good.

PM - 3.75 miles. 30 min easy. We met up at the high school for our first official team afternoon run. It was super hot today. It honestly felt like the hottest afternoon run this summer. I was sweating like crazy but otherwise I felt pretty good.

AM - 6.25 miles. 45 min with 30/30s. Great workout today. It was way hot and humid but we still managed to get a good group going and run really well. I ended up maxing out at 30 repeats. I almost dropped out at 25 but I told myself at that moment that I was going to make it all the way to 30 and I did. We had a really nice group today with about 8 guys until 25 and 4 guys who made it all the way to 30. I was so tired after and my legs felt really sore. Running club after was fun but I kind of wished we didn't do workouts before it.

PM - 6 miles. Chelsi Petersen 5k with 13ish min warm/cool. Time: 17:32. 3rd Place Overall. Not get many serious racers at the race. Mostly just our team since Desert Hills decided not to actually race it. I got out quick and right out in front with Coach and stuck right with him for most of the first lap. As we came down the home stretch towards the church, I started to fall back and Coach left me in the dust. I really wished I had just stuck with him a little longer because I really slowed down once I dropped off him. I hit the first lap in just over 8 min which was on pace for sub 17. I pretty much stayed in 2nd for the rest of the race until Jason passed me just before we turned to come down the home stretch. I couldn't get myself to stick with him and he easily beat me. Not quite what I was hoping to do today but compared to last year, it was a course PR of 1:28 (Time last year: 19:00).

AM - 8.5 miles. 60 min easy with striders. Not such a great run today. The legs were super sore and I was the most tired I have been all year. The run to Sandbergs was great but once I got to the grass I felt worn out. I didn't even really pick it up on striders. It was basically the same pace as the recovery.

PM - 3.25 miles. 30 min easy. We ran to Sandbergs again this afternoon for the first official SD Wednesday. I felt a lot less tired this afternoon because of the nap I took between runs.

AM - 7.75 miles. 55 min with 4x6:00 min cruise and 3 min recovery. Such an amazing workout today. I still felt a bit fatigued on the warm up and the beginning of the workout but soon it just faded and I was able to get rolling. The first couple weren't too hard and I was able to stick right up front but on the last too I really started to struggle. I told myself to not worry about the last one which helped me to keep the third one very strong still and stay with the pack. The last one was extremely hard but I knew I couldn't just quit now when I was almost done. Nick made a big move on the last one and we all started to spread out and I almost faded back at this point but everyone else started matching Nick's move so I did too. I felt so terrible after we finished but it was worth it. That was one of my best workouts ever and one of the team's best workout ever. We had our strongest group of the year today even with some key guys missing. We finished with 6 guys all together.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min easy. Met up with the team today at the high school. We ran up into Green Springs. My legs felt tired but not too hot this afternoon. We saw Igor almost wreck his moped today as we were running. Probably the funniest thing all day.

We met up at Pine View Park today and ran out towards Little Valley and looped back around past the Springs and in front of Stone Cliff. It was a fun run but I just felt so worn out from the rest of the week. I ended up falling behind everybody on the strong finish because I was so tired.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min easy. Just a quiet run by myself at 2. I still felt worn out.

AM - 9.5 miles. 60 min with 30 min tempo. Strong workout for me today. I really focused on keeping my breathing calm and staying relaxed. At the beginning, I just sat back and just let everybody else lead. I started to move up as some of the younger guys fell back but still sat at the back of the pack. With about 10 min left I started moving more towards the front and took the lead. I started to gap the group a little bit but I pulled back a little to let us regroup. Then me and Jason got a nice little groove going and we pulled a little bit ahead to finish off the tempo. It was definitely my best tempo of the season and I accomplished my only goal for the week which was to do well on the tempo. We also had a pretty good group going for most of it.

PM - 3.5 miles. Hot run on 2450 loop. I felt pretty good. Not tired like last week.

AM - 7 miles. 45 min easy (25 road, 20 grass) with striders and another mile at kids club pacing the races. We did a reverse Indian run on the grass and had a great story time. I was feeling really tired today. Not sure if that was because of the tempo or not enough sleep.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min easy. We ran out in Tonaquint today where Nick had to pick up Alex and Macen from Nerd Camp. Hot easy run through the desert out there.

AM - 5 miles. Enterprise 5k. 3rd Overall. Time: 18:10. Pretty uneventful race. The start was really weird and Nick was gone before I could react. For that first mile, I was right with Preston and this Enterprise runner but then Preston pulled ahead a bit and the Enterprise kid dropped hard. The rest of the race stayed pretty much stayed the same. Nick kept pulling farther and farther ahead. Preston pulled a little bit more ahead and I just was trying to hold on so the Enterprise kid didn't catch me. It was great to get a medal but it doesn't feel like a race worthy of a medal. I just felt like I didn't push myself that much. I really should have gone with Nick and Preston. It really bothers me that we have had such strong groups in practice but then our races are a lot more spread out. I guess these aren't important races and we didn't have all our guys there but still.

AM - 12.5 miles. 90 min with long hills and strong finish. We met at Vernon Worthen park today and ran up the marathon course. It was a super hard run and I felt really tired again and I fell behind all the guys. My strong finish wasn't very fast like last week which makes me kind of mad. I just haven't gotten enough sleep lately but I think I might still be getting used to all this mileage as well. I really don't want to keep feeling this way.

AM - 8.75 miles. 60 min with 30 min tempo. Great tempo today. I stuck with everybody for the first twenty minutes and then Nick and Logan really got rolling and started to gap me a bit but I was able to still finish off the tempo strong and kept the gap very small. Nice strong group today. It still needs work but it's coming along. I didn't feel tired today which was great but I'm going to need to work to keep it that way.

PM - 3.5 miles. 32 min easy. I ran by myself over to the high school and ran the time trial course. I'm really looking forward to racing on it next week. Legs felt great this afternoon but my stomach was all jacked.

AM - 7.25 miles. 45 min with 60/60s. Great workout today. We got a really good group going just like 2 weeks ago on the 30/30s. Nick, Paul, Preston, and I all maxed out at 15 repeats. It was pretty difficult those last few but I promised myself that I would get all the way to 15 and that really helped. Legs didn't feel tired even though I didn't get a whole lot of sleep last night. Little bit of extra mileage at Kids Club.

PM - 3.25 miles. 30 min easy. I just ran by myself over to the school and ran the time trial course so I could start getting a feel for it. Crazy course with the addition of the rocks on the hill and better grass on top of the hill. There is a bunch of equipment in the way over by the shot put ring so that could be a problem come the race next week. Legs felt pretty tired from this morning but it wasn't extremely hot.

AM - 7 miles. 60 min with long hill. Super hard run today. I couldn't get myself to stick with the group on the way up because the hill was super hard especially with the high altitude. The way back was easy and I was able to just coast back down with the group.

PM - 3.5 miles. 30 min easy. We drove out to a trail in hopes of finding the legit look out point but it was a lot farther than we could go so we had to settle for a much less legit one.
